Nature inspires me and informs my work. I constantly look to nature for colors, shapes and themes for my work.
The beauty of Creation triggers my own creative impulse. I take what I see and filter it through my imagination and incorporate it onto a drawing surface.
The roots of each drawing are firmly planted in our real world, but the finished image develops a sensibility far removed from the original source of inspiration.
Surface texture, color and content are added to the drawing surface by intermixing layers upon layers of media and hues. This layering process serves to both hide and reveal the content of the drawings.

Born in Huntsville, Alabama, received her BS in Art Education from the University of Alabama and completed an MFA in Ceramics from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1993.
She has taught ceramics and art education at Concordia College, Moorhead MN, Houston Community College, Houston, TX, and Lee College, Baytown, TX.
Her work has won top honors at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Transco Towers in Houston, Tx. and Del Mar College, Del Mar, Tx. Her work may be found in private and public collections throughout the country.
Currently she lives in the Five Points area with her husband Gary. She is an adjunct professor at UAH, where she teaches drawing and design.
